Monitoring

How it Works

Communication from your home or business to your Monitoring Centre works over standard telephone lines or other communication networks, so it doesn't matter where your Monitoring Centre is located, the connection time is usually within seconds. If an alarm is triggered a Monitoring Centre representative will carry out your instructions. In some situations, calling the premises first helps in determining whether the alarm requires the Emergency Services to attend.

By doing this, the Monitoring Centre is able to provide more accurate information to the Emergency Services, should they be required, and help them reduce the possibility of sending false dispatches that can impact their ability to respond to genuine emergencies.

Cost saving hint: If you (or your family or colleagues) trip the alarm yourselves cancel it immediately by entering your alarm code (digits, passcode, PIN etc) into the keypad. This helps reduce the chance of you being charged for the costs of any attendances by a patrol response company or Emergency Services to false alarms. If you accidentally trip a smoke or heat detector cancel the alarm then phone your Monitoring Centre immediately to cancel the response.
