New awards to recognise excellence in New Zealand security industry

New awards to recognise and promote excellence among New Zealand security companies have been launched.

ETITO, the industry training organisation for the security industry, is partnering with the New Zealand Security Association (NZSA) to present refreshed awards at the annual New Zealand Security Industry Conference to be held in Auckland in August.

The NZSA has previously presented annual awards but with ETITO agrees the time is right to give greater priority and profile to recognising the growing professionalism of the industry.

The awards across five categories recognise the work of individuals and firms. They are:

    ETITO Chief Executive Garry Fissenden and NZSA Executive Officer Greg Watts are pleased to further cement the industry partnership between the two organisations through the awards.

    "There is a lot of great work going on among security firms that deserves recognition and ETITO is keen to be able to continue our work with the industry in such a tangible and worthwhile way as the awards," says Garry.

    Greg says it is hoped this will start a new era to truly showcase industry excellence. "Each year the calibre of entries rises and with further and new awards focused on developing excellence we hope this will keep encouraging people and firms to get involved and lift the bar.
