Consultants
Independent, experienced, and informed advice from qualified security professionals is a critical part of the decision making process for consumers of the security industry’s products and services. The NZSA promotes professional excellence and true independence as a core requirement of persons or companies promoting themselves as consultants within the security industry. In this context, the term consultant refers to a person or company operating as an advisor to clients of security services or products, from a truly independent standpoint, rather than a term applied to a sales person with a clear vested interested in the outcome of a “sale”. Strategic relationships with domestic and international professional security bodies assist us in moderating persons wishing to be considered as independent consultants, with both ASIS NZ and the Australasian Council of Security Professionals critical to this process from an external perspective. Members wishing to be listed as independent consultants must agree to the New Zealand Security Association’s code of ethical conduct and the code of practice for independent consultants, (which is currently under development) and meet all other requirements and expectations placed on them by the association. |
