Electronics - Security Electronics & Technology

Can take many forms from basic Intruder Alarms Systems (IAS), to biometrics (the science and technology of measuring and analysing biological data).

These systems need to be tailored for the individual need, so the type and number of equipment that will be used WILL vary between installations; there is no "one fits all" solution.

It is imperative that a detailed security assessment is carried out BEFORE any proposal is considered, in order that the needs of the client be identified and satisfied.

In general it is used to either, deter, prevent or detect thieves and opportunists from entering premises. This can be achieved by using sophisticated electronics, but they do need to be "fit for purpose" designed, installed, monitored, serviced and maintained by suitably licenced, qualified and experienced companies and individuals.

The easiest way of achieving this is to use an accredited NZSA member.

Points to consider:

a) You should check that your chosen installation company;

1.   Is an accredited member of the NZSA
2.   Is licenced with the Ministry of Justice
3.   Has all its staff with Certificate of Approvals from the Ministry of Justice
4.   Has all the relevant insurances including public and private liability
5.   Offers 24/7 cover, on every day of the year
6.   Complies with the relevant AS/NZ standards
7.   Complies with the relevant NZSA codes of practices - click her to view
8.   Uses good quality equipment, with warranties and good service back-up
9.   Explains the various monitoring options
10. Offers you a preventative maintenance scheme

b) To complete your system, off-site monitoring by an accredited monitoring station that meets or even exceeds the relevant NZ standards, should be considered.

c) The system meets YOUR needs

Intruder Alarm Systems are now a vital tool to deter would be thieves and opportunists entering our premises.
