A private investigator is a person who can be hired by individuals or groups to undertake investigatory law services. They often work for attorneys in civil cases and for insurnace companies to investigate suspicious claims etc. Private Investigators who are members of the NZSA must adhere to a strict 'Code of Ethical Conduct' at all times. A 'Code of Practice' is in development and will be implemented in 2011.
